In September 1981, Steve Jackson and his regular freelance cover artist Dave Martin shared their affection for the Illuminatus! Trilogy, and the latter proposed a game. Accordingly, I will refer those cards to corresponding conspiracy theories and what the card tells us about the organization behind it and their agenda in a subtle encrypted, and sometimes straightforward fashion. My ambition is to show you the correlation between real-life events and the connection with the Illuminati Brotherhood. At the end of 2022, I had to rebuild my website, which made me edit and reorder my articles. The motivation arose from the fact that even the event based on the “ virus of unknown origins” was predicted in the deck. I wrote this series of articles during the lockdown in 2020 for those people who card game that felt that there was some deeper mystery to it. Therefore, the Illuminati Card game could be considered an oracle that foresaw specific trends and events. A graphic example is the cards that predicted 9/11. Even more, it is plain to see that these cards depicted profound events that happened years after the game got released. Most analysts who looked deeper into the deck realized that topics depicted within are, in many ways, a form of collective archetypes-like a classical tarot set.

So throw out the GURPS rules, break out the Savage Worlds Core book and Science Fiction Companion, put on some Retro Synthwave and hit the lawless highways of the dark future present that might have been in your up armored sports car and blow up some bikers. The Illuminati Card Game is more than just entertainment you buy at a play store. Stuff like Autoduel or Games Workshop's Dark Future. I've always had a soft-spot for dystopian car-combat settings which are not quite apocalyptic, not quite Cyberpunk.

Likewise, I'm increasingly finding that Zeerusty dystopian settings like Cyberpunk 2020 have a certain charm now that they are literally games of the Alternate History Present. On the bright side, the book is so light on rules that it's basically System Agnostic. So much of the setting is based on what people in 1991 thought the future would be like. The setting as described also suffers from being extremely dated. If you're an old school grognard, just thinking about that horrifying mass of poorly organized systems is probably enough to make you. It's a mixed bag because if you were going to use GURPS 3rd edition, the book expects you to use GURPS Vehicles 3rd edition. It has basically no vehicle stats or game rules, and is instead almost entirely lore describing this pseudo post apocalyptic, socially degraded and ultraviolent then future USA.
